The American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) is the premier professional organization in healthcare administrative management. AAHAM's mission is to provide education, certification, networking, and advocacy for healthcare revenue cycle professionals.
The Maryland Chapter continues this mission at a local level through our continual education.
A message from our Chapter President
Dear Maryland AAHAM Members,
The Holidays are fast approaching. Here is what Maryland AAHAM will be up to during the Fall…
In October, National AAHAM announced the re-designation and structure of the certification programs.
CPAM is now Certified Revenue Cycle Executive (CRCE) with the distinction of either institutional or physician based.
CPAT is now Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) with the distinction of either institutional or physician based
A new level of Certification has been established ... Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) with the distinction of either institutional or physician based. This level of certification is for mid-level supervisor and managers.
At the November 15, 2013 Third Party Payer meeting it was announced that the Maryland Chapter had achieved over 400 National Members. Once again, Maryland AAHAM is in the forefront Nationally for membership and certification.
We have one last monthly meeting for this year on December 20, 2013 at Snyder’s Willow Grove. This will be our holiday celebration and a half day educational session and networking following.

Save the Date – January 25, 2014 is the Installation Dinner for those newly elected Maryland AAHAM Board Members. The event will be held at the BWI Westin in Linthicum, Maryland 7:00 PM until midnight. More information to come.

We WON Chapter Excellence again for 2013 !!!!! – we made it a three-peat
What does that mean you ask......
1st PLACE has been awarded to the MARYLAND Chapter of AAHAM for the Excellence in Pursuing the goals of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management, the Chairman Level Division Chapters with 300 or more national members.
Aspects of Chapter Excellence are:
Numbers of hours of Education availale to membership including Annual Institute.
Number of Board Meetings.
Communication to membership - email on hot topics and quarterly newsletter, The MD AAHAM Connection.
Community Activities - such as the Solider Drive, Donations to Kennedy Krieger Institute, Helping Up Mission, Baby Sears Fund and Donations to support our own members in need.
MD AAHAM members speaking at other AAHAM Chapter meetings or at the National AAHAM Annual Institute.
MD AAHAM members published journal articles for the MD AAHAM journal.
Thank you to everyone involved in obtaining this very prestigious award.

- 10% and greater membership growth in National members compared to 2012
- The first Chapter to maintaining over 300 National members
- First place for our Newsletter the Maryland Connection
